How do I know if my car needs paint correction?

What are swirl marks?

Swirl marks are fine circular scratches in the clear coat caused by improper washing, automatic car washes, or poor drying techniques. They're most visible in direct sunlight or under bright lighting.

Does paint correction remove scratches permanently?

Yes — as long as the scratches are within the clear coat. Paint correction removes a microscopic layer of clear coat to permanently eliminate light to moderate defects. Deep scratches that go through the clear coat may require touch-up or repainting.

Is paint correction the same as polishing or waxing?

No. Waxing and basic polishing temporarily improve shine but don't remove defects. Paint correction physically removes imperfections from the clear coat for long-term results.

Will paint correction damage my clear coat?

When performed professionally, paint correction is completely safe. We measure paint thickness and use controlled machine polishing techniques to remove only the minimum amount necessary.

How long does paint correction last?

The results are permanent as long as the paint is properly maintained. Poor washing techniques can reintroduce swirl marks over time, which is why we recommend pairing correction with ceramic or graphene protection.

How long does paint correction take?

Depending on the level of correction required, it can take anywhere from one full day to multiple days. Heavily swirled or neglected vehicles require more time to achieve proper results.

Is paint correction worth it on an older vehicle?

Should I get paint correction before ceramic coating?

Yes. Ceramic and graphene coatings lock in the finish underneath them. If defects are present before coating, they will remain visible. Correct first, protect second.
